Mental Wellness Month
As we step into a new year, January invites us to pause, reflect, and tend to our mental wellness—both individually and collectively. For SoCo Harm Reduction Association, Mental Wellness Month is a reminder that harm reduction isn’t just about supplies and services; it’s about dignity, connection, and meeting people where they are.
This month, we’re focusing on fresh starts, new resources, and the power of community that remind us change is possible—on our own timelines and in our own ways.

Caring for the Whole Person
Mental wellness is an essential part of harm reduction. Stress, grief, trauma, loneliness, and systemic barriers impact how we feel—and how we survive. During Mental Wellness Month, we encourage our community to check in with themselves and one another.
Mental wellness doesn’t mean feeling “okay” all the time or having everything figured out.

Sometimes, it looks like:

- Taking things one day—or one hour—at a time.
- Reaching out to a peer or support worker.
- Resting without guilt
- Making choices that reduce harm when total change feels overwhelming
At SoCo Harm Reduction, we believe your mental health matters regardless of where you are in your journey. You are worthy of care, compassion, and support—exactly as you are.
If you need someone to talk to or are looking for mental health resources, our team can help connect you to peer support, referrals, and community-based services throughout Southern Colorado.
